About

Jonathan, a Private Client Partner, Taxation Technician & Chartered Tax Advisor, is based in the firm's Torquay office. He specialises in trust & estate administration, elderly client affairs to include lasting powers of attorney and deputyship applications.

He has particular expertise in tax planning with an emphasis on the mitigation of inheritance tax and capital gains tax through the use of trusts and other structures.

Types of work completed includes:

  • Capital gains tax advice to client resident and domiciled in the Netherlands
  • Capital gains tax advice to an expatriate living and working abroad to include advice in connection with the timing of a property disposal
  • Inheritance tax advice to executors of an estate where the deceased died domiciled abroad
  • Gift of shares in a property letting company into a discretionary trust in order to mitigate Inheritance tax
  • Advice to farmers in relation to entrepreneurs relief and the disposal of land
  • Inheritance Tax advice to farmers, land owners and entrepreneurs
  • Advice to a non domiciled individual in relation to the merits of maintaining an offshore trust in Switzerland

Jonathan is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT).
