Christmas Charity Donations
This festive season instead of sending Christmas cards, Kitsons will be making a charitable donation to the following three schemes:
PATH (People Assisting Torbay’s Homeless)
“PATH Torbay is a local community, non-profit charity. We are run and supported totally by volunteers. We help those who find themselves homeless. Path also support individuals and families at risk of homelessness, vulnerable or in crisis. We also offer support to individuals and families in food poverty across Torbay. PATH provides a food bank, evening hot food and supplies. We signpost to all local responsible charities and local authority services. PATH is also part of the Torbay food Alliance and works in partnership with all other food banks in our local area.”https://www.facebook.com/PATHtorbay/
Exeter Homeless Partnership (EHP)
“At Exeter Homeless Partnership (EHP) our vision is to end homelessness in Exeter. A 3-year Comic Relief grant is helping us to do this by taking a ‘city wide’ approach to the challenge.
Homelessness isn’t just rough sleeping – it has many forms, all of us, to some degree, have a relationship to homelessness. Shoppers unsure whether to give to people begging, tenants struggling to afford their rent, schools, colleges and universities trying to support young people who are ‘sofa surfing’ or colleagues that may be ‘one pay-cheque’ away from being homeless.
How will EHP make a difference?
- Involving people who have been homeless as equals
- Ensuring that agencies and professionals listen to and engage with people with a lived experience of homelessness
- Create spaces to sign up to the Charter, collaborate and focus on specific issues
- To make it simpler for local businesses to donate their time, resources and energy
- Ultimately, to involve everyone and to try some new ideas out.”
