Kitson Boyce Life!

Kitsons Life

We are managed by a dynamic, forward-thinking management team which is hungry for success and passionate about delivering great service.

We like to have fun, but we are not scared to work hard as well as we know that our combined efforts will ensure the future growth and success of the firm from which we will all benefit.

Our Mission and Vision demonstrates our commitment to managing the firm in such a way so as to achieve these goals and aspirations.

Mission

“To provide top-quality legal services that prioritise building strong relationships with our clients to solve their problems and help them achieve their goals. We believe in the power of recommendation and strive to create a lasting impression by delivering exceptional service that instils trust and reliability at every interaction by speaking to clients with honesty, empathy, understanding, and respect.”

Vision

To be recognised and respected as a leading legal firm for our clients and people, setting the standard for excellence in service – a future where the legal profession is seen as welcome supportive guidance and not just a transactional necessity.

Environment

Kitson Boyce is based in the South West of England – a beautiful and wonderfully diverse area in which to live and work.  Whichever office you work in, you are never far from the vast moorland of the Dartmoor National Park and its stunning terrain or the beautiful South West coastline with its breathtaking views.

In April 2010, we moved our Head Office out of Torquay town centre to brand new, purpose-built offices at Minerva House, Edginswell Park on the edge of Torquay.  With spacious, open plan offices, superb client reception facilities and a fully equipped dining area which is perfect for socialising with colleagues over lunch, this move was well received by staff, clients and work referrers alike.  We also have impressive branch offices in Exeter, Plymouth and Totnes, and whilst we are proud of our Head Office facilities at Minerva House, we are equally as committed to the development and expansion of our other offices.

Colleagues

From the moment you walk through the door at the start of your employment with us, you will be struck by the friendliness of our staff at all levels throughout the firm.  Whenever a new member of staff joins us, we go out of our way to make them feel at home as quickly as possible and to provide them with all the support they need whilst they find their feet and become accustomed to the firm’s working practices and procedures.  There are no exceptions to this custom as everyone is treated equally and with the same attention, courtesy and respect, regardless of their position or status within the firm.

Corporate Social Responsibility

The partners and senior managers at Kitson Boyce are committed to managing the firm in a way that enhances the positive and minimises the negative economic, social and environmental impact of its activities and services provided.  We therefore aim to combine the provision of high quality legal advice to clients with a rewarding working environment and an awareness of the wider community.

The firm has implemented a Corporate Social Responsibility policy which demonstrates its commitment to the well-being of its staff and to being a prominent member of the local communities in which the firm’s offices are based in Torquay, Exeter, Plymouth and Totnes.  The firm has already developed strong relationships with a number of local charities and actively encourages its staff to participate in local community events, projects and fund-raising activities as and when such opportunities arise.

We also train our staff to become Dementia Friends through the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme, an initiative which aims to change people’s perceptions of dementia.  Dementia is a chronic disorder which can have a devastating effect on both sufferers and their families, so we believe it is vitally important to equip our staff with an understanding of the condition, how it can affect a person and how they can help individuals suffering from the condition who they meet in both their personal and professional life.

We appreciate that many of our employees support charities and good causes which are close to their heart, often for very personal reasons.  We therefore hold “mufti-days” and “dress down Fridays” in support of nominated charities when employees can wear casual clothes in return for a modest £2.00 fee which is donated to the charity.  We also love a good bake and hold fundraising events and support national events throughout the year, such as the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning for which employees demonstrate their culinary skills and make cakes and other treats to sell to colleagues and raise money for charity.
