New Sponsorship Deal for Glittering Teignbridge Sports Gala

Kitsons Solicitors has committed to a new deal that sees the Devon law firm become headline sponsor for Teignbridge District Council’s Sports Personality Awards for the third year running.

The Teignbridge Sports Personality of the Year Awards has become one of the largest events of its kind. It recognises and rewards a wide range of athletes, teams, volunteers, coaches and unsung heroes for their hard work and dedication to sport, health and physical activity in many local communities across the district.

This year's Sports Personality Awards will be held on Friday 2 December 2016 at the Langstone Cliff Hotel, Dawlish Warren.

New Legislation concerning Tenancy Deposits in 2015:

Whether received before or after April 2007 ALL tenancy deposits must be secured and they must be done so before 23rd June 2015.

The creation of deposit schemes following the Housing Act 2004, made Landlords believe that a deposit need not be protected if received before 6th April 2007 when the Act came into force, unless a new tenancy agreement was granted.

This case provides important clarification on the dates specified within a Section 21 Notice.

The Landlord entered two dates for the expiry of the notice which conflicted with each other and relied upon the words “at the end of your period of tenancy which will end after the expiration of two months from the service upon you of this notice”.

Kitsons Solicitors in Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth has secured The National Law Society’s law management quality mark, Lexcel.

Lexcel is developed specifically for the legal profession. It is an optional, recognised accreditation scheme for law firms and in-house legal departments, which gives assurance that a practice meets high client care and business management standards.

To gain and retain Lexcel accreditation, practice must undergo a rigorous initial then annual application and assessment process. This includes conducting background checks and an on-site visit from an experienced, trained Lexcel assessor.

Teignbridge Sports Awards 2014

Last Friday, the Teignbridge Sports Peronality Awards 2014 took place at the Langstone Cliff Hotel in Dawlish Warren.

The awards recognise and reward athletes, teams, volunteers, coaches, and unsung heroes for their hard work and dedication to sport, health and physical activity across the District and many local communities.

The awards ceremony was declared a resounding success and Molly Canham (Athletics) and Harry Birchill (Mountain Biking) were announced as the overall winners of the prestigious Sports Personality of the Year accolade, sponsored by Kitsons, in an evening that recognised many for their tireless commitment to sport.

A big congratulations to all involved!
