The National Three Peaks Challenge

Following on from the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in July, Joel Derman, Craig Roberts and Charlie Siegle from Kitsons took on the National Three Peaks challenge on the 15th of August, with the aim of climbing Ben Nevis, Sca Fell Pike and Snowdon in under 24 hours. At 3am in complete darkness at Sca Fell Pike wearing head torches and with steep steps seemingly rising forever they had their doubts that they could complete the challenge. Joel and Charlie almost cracked. Craig just carried on untroubled, living up to his “terminator” nickname.

In the end they made it off Sca Fell...

Miles for Mark - Third Training Walk: Red Lake

As the Miles for Mark challenge gets ever closer, a small group took to the hills yet again to get some much needed training.

From Ivybridge Station, they set off in pursuit of building fitness and strength for the big event in just over a months time.

Walking a total of 18.4 miles and in a very impressive 5 hours and 45 minutes, they looped around Red Lake and back.

Of course this is all for one reason, that being to raise as much money as possible for Diabetes UK.

Miles for Mark - Second Training Walk: Sourton

The Miles for Mark team took to the hills once again last Sunday, this time meeting at Sourton - all to get some much needed miles in our legs. 14 miles to be exact...

The heat of the sun mixed itself with the crisp wind, giving us perfect walking conditions and after borrrowing eachothers hats and gloves, we set off!

Plenty of hills stood in our way, but we kept our spirits high and ploughed through bogs and unsteady ground, which made for an exciting and very muddy journey.

Only stopping briefly to see where we were going and for a spot of lunch,...

Miles for Mark - First Training Walk: Belstone

With the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to aim for, a group of Kitsons walkers hit the moors this weekend to blow away some cobwebs. Doing the Belstone loop in Dartmoor, we travelled 10 miles up hills, through bogs, over rivers and through even more bogs...

With an early morning meet at our Torquay Office, we made our way to Belstone in need of a few more hours in bed and a large coffee. The drive was silent, with the thought of what was to come.

Arriving at the start point at 8am and hopeful to get back in time for the rugby and...

Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge 2015

Partners and staff at Kitsons Solicitors will be taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in July 2015 in aid of Diabetes UK. The Challenge will be completed in memory of our colleague Mark Batten, who passed away suddenly in March 2014.

Mark worked at Kitsons for over 35 years and was an active supporter of the firm. In 2013 when the firm took on the National Three Peaks Challenge, Mark acted as a volunteer driver from our head office in Torquay to Scotland and back.

As Mark had a link with Diabetes UK, it seemed the natural choice for this fundraising effort.
