Kitsons Appoints Contentious Probate Specialist

Posted on September 18th 2014 by

Devon law firm Kitsons has appointed a new Solicitor in its Litigation Department.

John Clarke is a Contentious Trust and Probate Specialist and his appointment is a reflection of the firm’s growing reputation in this niche area of legal practice.

John has a wealth of experience in dealing with challenges to the validity of wills, claims for financial provision from deceased persons’ estates and disputes between executors and beneficiaries concerning the administration of estates and trusts. John also deals with disputes regarding powers of attorney and Court of Protection applications. His specialism is complimented by his experience of dealing with the administration of estates and the drafting of wills and powers of attorney.

Speaking of his appointment, John said: “I am delighted to be joining Kitsons who are already recognised as a firm that provide a comprehensive service to clients in this complex area of law. Disputes of this nature often seem daunting to clients and I am looking forward to guiding them through towards a successful resolution.”

Kitsons Managing Partner James Cross added: “John’s appointment adds to Kitsons’ already strong reputation in dispute resolution. His specialism in Contentious Probate provides an important link between our Litigation and Probate departments. This is an area of practice that continues to grow and the appointment of a specialist is a reflection of our intention to meet the growing demand and of continuing to deliver outstanding client service.”

Kitsons are recommended in both Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 which are the two foremost guides to the best law firms in the country.

John is based in Kitsons’ Torquay office but will also cover the firm’s two other offices in Exeter and Plymouth.
