New Sponsor Named for Glittering Teignbridge Sports Gala

Posted on September 5th 2014 by

Devon law firm Kitsons has been unveiled as the new headline sponsor for Teignbridge District Council’s Sports Personality Awards.

The Torbay, Exeter and Plymouth business responded to a plea from the district council which was looking for a new primary sponsor for the annual ceremony which celebrates the best in community sport, physical activity and health.

This year’s Sports Personality Awards will be held on Friday 28 November at the Langstone Cliff Hotel, Dawlish Warren.

The awards gala has become one of the largest of its kind, recognising and rewarding a number of athletes, teams, volunteers, coaches, and unsung heroes for their hard work and dedication to sport, health and physical activity across the District and many local communities.

Cllr George Gribble, Teignbridge Executive Spokesman for Communities, Recreation and Leisure said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Kitsons on board. We’re really grateful for their support and are sure it will contribute positively to the future of this popular annual event. People still have time to get their nominations in. If you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to sport, physical activity or health in Teignbridge we’re really keen to hear from you.

“As we have seen in previous years, there are lots of people out there who work tirelessly, often giving their own time for nothing, and we would love to see them recognised for their efforts.”

James Cross, Managing Partner at Kitsons, added: "We’re proud to be sponsoring the Sports Personality Awards 2014 which demonstrates our commitment and passion for Teignbridge. I’m sure the awards evening will be a great opportunity to meet other people and celebrate the local sporting success stories in Teignbridge and beyond.”
