Insolvency Charity Quiz
The insolvency team at Kitsons recently hosted a general knowledge quiz to raise money for the Kunnika Project, an African charity that empowers women in Zambia to establish their own businesses and become self-sufficient. The event, which took place on 16 June, was held at the City Gate Hotel, Exeter and raised a total of £200.00 for this well deserving and innovative charity.
Businesses from all over Devon turned out to compete for the prestigious jellybean filled trophy, with over ten teams vying for first place. Consisting of mostly insolvency practitioners and local accountants, the quiz provided a great opportunity to network in a relaxed yet lively environment.
Emma Davy, Partner and Head of Insolvency at Kitsons stated:
"It was a fantastic evening in aid of a very respectable cause and we're delighted to be sending the money raised to the Kunnika Project."
The winning team on the night with a perfect score on the "crime duos of the 80s" round were 'Pepsons', a last-minute collaboration from Kitsons and accountancy firm Peplows. Also strong contenders for the trophy were Exeter and Sidmouth based Cathedral Financial Management, who achieved an impressive score thanks to an early lead, and secured second place.
Coming in last, although by no means least, were chartered accountants Bishop Fleming, finishing both third and last with each of their teams and proud owners of the enviable pink wooden spoons.
Emma concluded:
"Overall the night was very enjoyable with a lot of laughs and some healthy competition to boot - all for a very worthwhile charity."
