Fawlty Towers Came Home
Kitsons were proud to sponsor TOADS' production at Torquay's Little Theatre of the 1970s television show Fawlty Towers, starring John Cleese and Prunella Scales. Rob Newman, Partner and renowned licensing expert, attended the play along with the new marketing team and twenty of Torbay's top hoteliers.
Greeted by wine and canapés, the guests had time to mingle before taking their seats in the converted Church. Everyone agreed that the production was professional, accurate and funny, and all the actors gave excellent performances. Being experienced hoteliers and veterans of the industry, our guests were able to empathise with Basil's frustration and recognise the humorous side of the hotel business.
The evening provided a great opportunity to meet people and a fun night out, and many of the guests brought family members which made the event that more intimate and informal. It was lovely to see wives, children and grandparents attending the event and to unite hardcore fans of the television show with complete novices.
There is talk of future productions next season of the popular television show, which took its inspiration from the Gleneagles Hotel in Torquay, and Kitsons are very keen to sponsor once more what emerged as not only a very successful marketing event but a truly enjoyable evening for all.
