Exeter Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament

Sixteen teams of local Exeter businesses brought their best game to the green for the Chamber of Commerce Annual Team Golf Tournament on Thursday 10 June.  Spirits were high and the atmosphere was charged as over 60 golfers arrived to battle it out on the golf course and compete for the impressive 'Chamber Pot' trophy.

Team Kitsons put forward a strong four-man team consisting of Nick James (HSBC), Michael Fredricksson (Northwood Estate Agents), and from Kitsons, Matt Scott-Tucker and Mike Smith.  Performing particularly well and staving off the competition of other local law firms, Team Kitsons triumphed and finishing ahead by a clear 6 shots were the overall winners of the tournament.

This prestigious event was organised by Posh Pig Promotions on behalf of Exeter Chamber of Commerce and held amongst the well-appointed surroundings of Woodbury Park Golf & Country Club. The format of this year's competition was a team stableford event over 18 holes with two scores to count.

 Fuelled by coffee and bacon butties and demonstrating some serious skill, James scored three birdies including a superb 20 ft putt on 18.  Fredicksson held his nerve, sinking a great up and down bunker shot on hole 16, whilst Scott-Tucker and Smith were both on top form and scored matching birdies on the long par 5 ninth hole.

In spite of a tense moment on the last hole with Scott-Tucker and Fredricksson both three-putting for a bogey, Team Kitsons maintained their lead and secured first place, beating local law firm Foot Anstey into second.  Overall it was an enjoyable day in beautiful surroundings, and moreover a well deserved success for the Kitsons team.
