Kitsons Give To Gracie's Fund

Legacies have provided an increasingly important income stream for charities in recent years with the potential to fund both minor and major capital projects.  Although charity's fundraising efforts have never been so imaginative and well executed, there is always a demand for more income to allow for investment in major development projects, and to secure much-needed income for the future.

At a local level, many charities feel "squeezed" by the success of the fund raising efforts of the larger national charities and the effects of the "credit crunch".  With  this in mind Kitsons launched a pioneering initiative in mid 2008 with the intention of increasing the legacy income stream for South West Charities.

Kitsons' Wills for Charities Scheme offers friends and supporters of the chosen Charity the opportunity to help fund their vital work either by introducing a legacy into the Will for their benefit or simply by making a Will for  the benefit of family and friends.

Whenever Kitsons makes a Will for friends and supporters, irrespective of whether a legacy is included, they donate 25% of their fee to the Charitable Trust associated with the person's chosen charity.

Currently one of the participating schemes is the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit the Bristol Royal Children's Hospital in memory of Chris and Heather McCaughey's daughter Grace Jane Faye.

Grace was a very special baby girl who suffered an enormous ordeal at a very young age.  This scheme raises money for the unit and aims to teach people about Grace's journey.  Sadly, Grace died several weeks after birth from a rare chromosomal disorder that led to a heart condition and further complications.  She was a real fighter, continually defying the odds, but ultimately a transfer for a simple feeding tube proved fatal.

Kitsons' donation to Gracie's Fund will go towards buying equipment for the ward, ensuring other babies like Grace receive the very best of care.

"Thank you so much again for all you are giving our Gracie. We think you and your firm are amazing in your strong family values and we will continue to champion you at every cause."
